The AICPA is not in a location that was effected by Sandy. Neither is NASBA. I think the AICPA should have at least provided more detail as to what is causing the delay.

    REG: 86
    AUD: 92
    FAR: 84
    BEC: 87
    Ethics: Passed!
    Licensed 11/20/12

Supporting my husband on his CPA journey: 75% of the way there!

Not sure why the delay seeing that results would have been out beginning tomorrow… I'm thinking this is in consideration of those affected by the storms coz there are candidates in the affected areas??

Still, I am anything but comforted right now… In the past few days I've been struggling with studying for REG due to anxiety… This makes it much harder to concentrate on anything else!

    https://blog.aicpa.org/2012/11/cpa-exam-scores-may-be-delayed-due-to-hurricane-sandy.html

Headline: “CPA Exam Scores MAY Be Delayed Due to Hurricane Sandy”………..Directly below that: “Due to the effects of Hurricane Sandy there WILL be a short delay in the release of the Uniform CPA Examination scores.” Which is it?

Whatever. I've been waiting since October 4, so another week won't kill me. But I was looking for some good news to motivate me to study harder for REG. Definitely disappointed.

I agree it sucks and the post doesn't make sense. If we all take a deep breathe, it will be alright..

All, let's put our comments in AICPA website below the news so that they understand how painful their decision is for students. For AICPA it's extra time but for students it's pain.

    BEC: 77(Nov 2010), 81(Jul 2012).
    FAR: 80(Jul 2012).
    REG: 72(Jul 2012), 78(Oct 2012).
    AUD: 71(Nov 2010),74(Jul 2012),74(Oct 2012),75(Jan 2013)- Thanks God, without you i couldnt have done this. I'M DONE !!!

for those that this is out last exam…this is adding salt to the wound…we would like these scores so we can move on…for those doubting their last score it takes time from them studying to retake this year…

Seriously, I give up. This so effing sucks. I was thinking if I had a fail, I might attempt to study and schedule a retake the very end of Nov, with Dec closed and year end after that…if I pass I guess I don't care how long it took to find out. Stupid mother nature, lol.

Hey, mayne, calm down. It could be worse. Remember, this hurricane killed at least 75 people and caused $50 billion in damage.

@thistooshallpass– if it makes you feel any better, you can't take the same exam twice in the same window, so the earliest you could retake REG would be January. That said, I'm pulling for you and for all of us to pass!

    REG- 53, 91
    BEC- 88
    FAR- 62, 85
    AUD- 85

    Ethics- 93

I give up! I'm making a decision to move on with my life from this moment. The score will come when it comes. I will not let this shit kidnap another week of my life. Everyone is inefficient but us!

    #385809

@sarah210, dang I had forgot that! I really hope its not an issue anyway…but thanks for the reminder.

I just recieved a response from Gregory J. Wright, AICPA Communications Manager. His response to my question about the posting was this:

“Thank you for your comment. At this time we cannot give any more specifics. The office which grades and manages the CPA exam was in direct line of the hurrican and is currently without power. While the office has not suffered any damage, many of the employees' homes and surrounding areas did. Once power has been restored and it is safe for our employees to return to the office, the will and we will provide and updated score release timeline. “

According to his signature his office is actually In New York, NY.

So I guess we will be waiting for a good little bit longer.
