    @CPAJunky

    When I walked out of REG back in November (right before Thanksgiving), I was pretty confident that it wouldn't be the last time I saw REG. I just did not feel at all confident about it.

    I got a 94.

    Lesson: Just because you feel like garbage doesn't mean there isn't hope!

    Thanks – I'm 547 out of VA, then. Here's hoping for an 12:00 release!

    Well, I guess I'm not getting my score today. The incredibly slow NASBA didn't receive my final transcript I mailed 8/8 until 8/15, and are still “further processing” it.

    I swear they have the slowest processing department in the world, it took them a month and a half to approve my documents the first time.

    Little bit of both—I definitely felt like my multiple choice went downhill the further into them I got, but the simulations for REG in general can feel pretty punishing. I wish I could remember just what mine were about, but (thankfully?) I managed to block it out in short order.

    Waiting today for 546 BEC ME… my last section, so if all goes well I'm finally home free…

    Thanks for the replies. For my MCQ, none seemed to be very difficult (which makes me kind of worried, even though I ended up having to narrow down quiitttee a few), I just found it to be rather hard to recall all that information. Whereas when I took FAR, I felt like if you understood journal entries you could take a stab at it, work backwards and fill something in. REG is just so hard to put my finger on because there were so many that seemed like they could have to answers.

    How can you possibly feel bad and then score a 95?

    This is what I remember from college too (that and a few other things) – people constantly talked themselves down and then got a 94. Jeez. I guess it all comes down to lack of self confidence… or seeking attention.

    I always talk myself up, unless I really feel like shit about my exam (which I did for FAR this time, unfortunately).

    I am nervous about my REG score as well. The first MC section happened to ask all the little questions that I had struggled with so it could have thrown off the difficulty of my next MC sections (I hope not!). And, as everyone else has said, the sims were brutal.

    I feel like I could have easily either passed with flying colors or failed miserably, neither would surprise me.

    REG - PASSED! 8/8/14 (81)
    FAR - PASSED! 11/24/14 (87)
    AUD - PASSED! 1/9/15 (87)
    BEC - 2/17/15

    @krokofilen

    Definitely an acute lack of self-confidence. I just found REG very difficult to study for due to there being so much disparate information (whereas for AUD, it's all pretty cohesive / builds on itself)—and that's coming from someone who actually works almost exclusively in tax.

    With FAR, at least when I left the exam I could tell myself “Well, I probably didn't do as well on that one, but I think I did well enough to pass.” I think that, like CPAJunky pointed out, with FAR you're not quite as in-the-dark and have more of a chance to feel your way to a good answer.
