WannafreeParticipant@SallyCPA ,I believe that the current format is not really testing the knowledge of candidates. When wait time used to be 2-3 weeks ,hit and miss SIM would have okay but when you have to wait 4 months hit and miss type SIM is not good.
I can't believe how I took 120 minutes for MCQ ,that made my score release day and exam day same.Since then I am normally trying to solve 50 questions each day and since then improved my speed substantially .
This time my approach is focus on MCQ ( 45 marks ) and at least 3 SIMs like Research and 2 DRS 100% correct (66 ) and attempt whatever I can for 5 SIMs ( 3 marks X 4 , so total 78 ).I believe it's doable.Based on forum they have increased Govt/NFP and as these are not calculations questions I would be able to save time. You can see there is a path to victory ( CNN's John King's Magic board ,LOL).August 8, 2017 at 9:54 am #1596488

jordan.davisParticipant@CPAIN2K17 that message was cruel. As I was reading your post I thought it was going to end in, “so you guys should check your scores because they released them early.” I think this wait is driving me insane. It's consuming more and more of my time throughout the day.

abigParticipantSuch a big month for me, find out Audit in 11 days and then take FAR sept 7. Could easily be done in a month or still only halfway done.

oreoblastParticipant@cpain2k17 I've been checking once a week or so since the middle of June, haha. I just keep hoping… oh well, it's so close now it doesn't matter!

CPAIN2K17Participant@Jordan.davis lol sorry to disappoint. I think its a fair assumption if they haven't released them by now, they won't until the 17th sadly. Oh well, its almost here!

WannafreeParticipant@SallyCPA , I start my early morning and try to solve 50 MCQs from different chapters.Sometimes from just one chapter too.e.g Leases or Consolidation ,can't pick some questions from these chapters.
Also try to read the chapters but that is too slow.My problem was speed hence I am trying to measure the time with stop watch (clock apps of iphone ).Progressed well and now averaging 55 seconds. Some questions ( govt type ) I clock 30-40 seconds. I am not wasting time practicing SIMs as I have understood ultimately have to use common sense and email reading skills to solve them within time.
FAR SIMs was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get.” … FAR is a box of chocolates.” LOLAugust 9, 2017 at 9:41 am #1597128
brokeonbecker4Participant8 more days! We are so close! I will be getting back FAR and AUD (my first two exams ever), and I'm not sure how to mentally prepare myself. I feel like I failed both miserably. How do people cope with/mourn the failure? I'd just be happy with 1/2. I've been studying full time for 4.5 months now, and I'm exhausted.

jordan.davisParticipant@brokeonbecker4 I know exactly how you feel. I walked out of FAR and thought it was the hardest exam I've taken in my life. I'm thinking I got a 68 on it. There were so many questions where I thought I knew the answer easily, but then none of the answer choices were my answer. That was a little disappointing. Did anyone leave SIMs blank? I didn't, but I've read other people leave them blank someetimes…?

TBoneParticipant@jordan.davis I took FAR and did not manage my time well on the SIMS. I had about 5 minutes left for the last testlet and had to put all zeros in for a question I knew I would have gotten right if I had enough time. I can't remember if the directions said to leave items blank or input a 0 if it didn't require an answer so I have to assume I got that one completely wrong.
Because of that I'm 90% sure I failed since I cant really remember how the rest of the test went for me. It stings more knowing that it was a problem I was familiar with going into the test.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
FAR: 66, 75
AUD: 67, 69, 70, 74, 74
REG: 71, 79
BEC: 73August 9, 2017 at 10:30 am #1597163
tskits75ParticipantI didn't leave any sims blank, but I took 120 mins on the MCQs, which left me trying to finish my last SIM as the clock was ticking down. I got around 90% of the SIM completed as time expired, at least it was in balance when it stopped me! That clock ticking down is so stressful.
AUD - 92
BEC - 79
REG - August

SallyCPAParticipantWow, its good to know that I'm not the only one who thought the FAR sims were very difficult. I didn't leave any blank but I certainly felt like I was guessing on most of the sims. It was so difficult to understand everything going on considering I had client documents in every sim. I understand that the new exam is %60-40 but I think that there has to be some consideration if everyone thought the sims were tough in Q2…
August 9, 2017 at 2:54 pm #1597316
jordan.davisParticipant@SallyCPA I was guessing on some of the SIMs, too. I had client docs on every SIM but one. There was just so much information that it took me some time to sift through it all. I REALLY hope they give some extra consideration to us who took FAR in Q2. That test was unlike the other three that I had already taken. I felt blindsided sometimes.
If you live in Georgia, then I would suggest you go to the Georgia state board website. They talk about extensions for those of us could possibly lose credit because of the long wait. I'd highly recommend checking it out.
