Congrats to everyone who passed! Thank you to everyone else who said encouraging words to me!!! I really appreciate you all on this forum no one else in m world understand me and a majority of the people I know say they don’t understand why I am doing this! To everyone who didn’t pass I realized today I wasn’t being honest with myself…just wanted to share that because maybe it isn’t your study materials maybe its you!

    Dream,

What's your strategy for preparation? My strategy was to purchase the content material, rewrite into my own words, memorize and comprehend everything and then do a series of practice quizzes and SIMS/WCs. Once I was scoring over 85% on my practice runs, I would do an actual Replica CPA Exam for the 3 or 4 hours depending on the part. If I passed that over 85% then I'm “exam ready”. Until I was passing both the quizzes and the Replica Exam over 85% I would NOT sit for the exam.

So far everything is rewritten between all four parts, and I'm zoning in on BEC so I can sit for that at the end of the month. I have pushed back sitting for FAR this month as well. I refuse to sit for any part of the exam until my preparation is done and my practice quizzes/exams are over 85% because I think without that I won't pass the exam section.

    - FAR: Saturday, November 29th
    - AUD: TBA for February 2015

    Dream,

Yes, that's my mentality exactly lol. Not just the money wasted, but the 3 or 4 hours I would have to sit there going through the exam knowing good and well I'm not prepared for it, and could be back at the office getting actual work done instead lol.

I made that mistake through one of my undergrad programs completing a CompTIA certification, so I've learned from that mistake.

This may not be helpful to you dream, but I feel like it should be known that your attitude is contagious and i find it very motivating. Baxter and Kricket were great motivators, and I love your “up for the challenge” attitude.

I also just received a 70 on BEC, there's a swing of emotions (for me) with any fail. I have passed BEC and I attribute my failure towards tax season stretching myself too thin. Now that tax season is over, its on. I found this topic and your attitude worthy to take time out of my day and take my hat off to you.

(only my second post ever and the first since The Great ILBOA Website Outage of 12/2013)

    Keep it up.
