    Hello,

Do you guys check your scores on the Nasba website or wait for an email? Are the scores posted on Nasba website right after an email is sent? I’m going to be camping for a week with no computer or smart phone to check my score. I will be desperate to know my FAR score come August 22 and even went so far as to ask my brother if I could borrow his phone for the week to check. He’s very protective of his iPhone so of course he said “no, come on, its just some test.” I’m just wondering if I should give a friend my NASBA username and password to check for me as opposed to my email password and all of that info for a week. Is this a little excessive? Should I get a smart phone if I pass?

everyone should have a smartphone in this day and age, they are so cheap just for a simple one. if you are insecure about giving your password to someone, do this: go to your account and change your password too something else other than your usual password, then after you get back, you can change it again.

OP, why not just try and enjoy trip? If you fail it'll just make the rest of the trip a drag…

Yeah I'm debating if I should check or not….Smartphones, jokes, and monthly data plans aside, my main question is does NASBA post on their website the day of release? Obviously I'll change my regular password but would rather have a friend using the archaic NASBA website rather than seeing financial or other personal information sent to my email.

If you are a NASBA state, which it sounds like you are. You can get your score from the following site using your NTS number and your birth date. Typically they are on this site the business day before the posted day from the AICPA.

    https://ncd.nasba.org/gwprdv2/servlet/hgwcs01

This would only require you giving your friend your NTS number and birth date.

I think this is what you are asking!

My friend gave me her username and password so that I could look for her. No big deal. Or you can do what superwario said and just temporarily change the information.

If you're in a NASBA state, typically the scores are posted sometime the day before we get the email (in my situation anyway, I get the email after the score is posted). Scores are typically posted the day before the official release date, so we're looking at Aug 21 now.

There's nothing wrong with enjoying your trip and just waiting to get home, though :). I wouldn't go out and BUY a smartphone so that you can know, unless you want a smartphone!

Yes thank you smp, this is what I mean! You're saying NASBA is actually up to date on the website? I could just see them sending me an email with my score but not actually archiving it on their site for like a month after that

Thanks for the help guys, I've got BEC on August 31st so I'm bringing study materials on the trip and won't truly escape the CPA stuff even if I ignore the FAR score…what was I thinking scheduling fun during all of this? Cheers

Hahaha yes I think you deserve a smart phone if you pass! 😉

If you're in a NASBA state (did your app through the NASBA site), then you can get your scores there. I don't know the details, cause I'm non-NASBA, but I know that's where a lot of people go to get their scores! And if you read the score release page (especially the one from last wave of last quarter when they didn't release forever – https://www.another71.com/cpa-exam-forum/topic/score-release-april-may-2013-thread-5 ), you'll see that a lot of us are much worse than just wanting to know within a week!

EDIT: I had that typed up and then a client showed up, so after they left I pushed the post button, then realized that many other people have already answered. 😛

So lucky, have fun dude. Man the first thing I am doing is going to a week long camping trip to Yosemite once I pass this exam. Miss having that sense of freedom and sheer joy of outdoor wilderness.

Not only is NASBA “up to date” on their website, but scores are there BEFORE you get the e-mail. That's why everyone sits on the score release site refreshing their browser on those nights.
