    Hey everyone,

Just a quick question to any California CPA’s out there. I got the notification letter from CBA stating that my application was complete and ready for review on July 22nd. They said it takes about 4-6 weeks and then a letter letting you know the status will be sent to you as well. You aren’t allowed to call for status updates. Can you call after the 6 week tiem frame is up? It’s been about 5.5 weeks and I haven’t heard anything. Is this consistent with anyone else’s experience?

Also, back in college (7+ years ago), I had a drunk in public citation which was a fine of literally $100. There’s no way that that would be a blemish which would cause a non-approval, would it? I had included it on the disclosure form as it’s really not a big deal.

You can call the board to make sure they received all your transcripts. That's what I did and it would give me peace of mind knowing when they did receive all of them. If you signed up to get notified through email, you get that as soon as they change your status.

I had called to check on the last transcript on a Monday and they said they received it that last Friday and it might be another week until I heard something. I got an email at 6 pm that night letting me know I could pick my sections.

    osidecampus,

Im also in CA and after they sent me a letter saying they received all documents I received a letter 10 days later saying that my application was approved. I wouldnt worry about the drunk in pulic because I had one too and reported it. I think elsie is right, if you report it before they catch it its all good. I think they are trying to see if people are lying. It seems like there is a lag on your application, I would call and maybe try to squeeze out an answer from them.
