    Hi All!

My boyfriend submitted his application to retake BEC and FAR which he got his scores back from in the 2nd wave of the April/May window. The application was submitted June 22nd and the check was cashed. We followed up with them about two weeks ago and received a response saying that they were waiting to recieve his scores so that they could approve the applciation (but scores had already been out!). And now we still have received no further response. We’ve been through this many times before and the process usually takes about a week. It’s quickly getting frusterated as we are approaching the dreaded 18 month mark, and now they’ve taken away nearly a month of testing time!!

Anybody have any advice on how to move this forward? Anybody having the same issue with the CBA this time around?

    Thanks in advance!

mmm thats an idea…I mean this is a real mess….we can't afford to lose an entire window…I dont care if they are upset about a wage cut or not….I don't think the solution is to take down other peoples shot at their career….thats messed up…nice motives…

well if you want to know the general attitude of the state workers just go to http://www.sacbee.com and click on the most commented articles. Find any of them having to deal w/ state workers in any form, and just read their comments.

Oh I don't even want to read them they will drive me crazy!

We have a lot of state workers in this area so we hear frequently the issue…..but SOMETHING has to be cut! are they going to donate so we can afford everybody…casue last time I checked we had a 19 bill deficit haha. Like I said it SUCKS..but this situation sucks for the entire private industry too…

If somebody in the California govt has some decency, which I strongly doubt, they should allow CA applicants to take exam part is September as well.

This is insane, especially for people who have to re-take parts. They got the score in the second half of June, sent the re-application right away and get most of the July-August window taken away!

I wrote a nasty nasty (in contents, polite in form) email to the Governor.

I doubt it will do anything though.

    AUD - 8/10/10 - 88
    BEC - 8/31/10 - 88

I sent a question to the aicpa asking if they will do anything to help with the time frame issue.

And called the CBA. I did get ahold of somebody…they pretty much said we're overworked and understaffed and we understand were behind but were trying our best. Ok….then extend the window.

has anybody ever tried to get their window extended due to this type of problem. We STILL haven't been able to schedule him for exams and now hes probably lost an entire window!

Getting really irritated at the whole situation….his 18 mo is up Feb.

    Any ideas?

This is an extra-incentive to pass all three sections I scheduled this window. I do NOT want to go through the painful process of having an application approved again. Especially if it is to retake exam sections.

    FAR - 7/26/10 - 95
    AUD - 8/10/10 - 88

I hate to say this even as bad as the NASBA release process is but it sounds like CA should let NASBA handle their accounts. I can have a NTS in my hand from the IN NASBA coordinator with 48-72 hours after submitting online. It is difficult enough to study and pass these exams then to have to worry about the wait time to get a NTS to take the exams.

    Lee_IN:

Took them over 50 days to update my application with new transcript (after they basically made me take those classes because they don't know how to distinguish between an accounting and a business class). Took NASBA less than 18 hours to send me a payment coupon, process my payment, and send me a NTS.

They should fire everyone in the CA Board of Accountancy (besides people who process actual licenses) and outsource everything to NASBA, and here you go you save some CA tax $$ (it'd be a drop in the ocean in terms of services to be cut, but still). I would much rather pay more to NASBA and have my application processed in a timely manner.
