My last (hopefully) exam is in 7 days (AUD). Unfortunately, I have no motivation! With the holiday weekend here, I have friends in from out of town, everyone wants to hang out, and I have had no willpower to decline! So far this morning I have gotten in a good hour of study-time and probably about a good hour of planning and re-planning my study plan (easy to plan, hard to follow through with the plan these days apparently).

Then, I ventured over to another71 and found post after post about how easy the Audit section has been, which has only helped to justify my lack of attention. Somehow I have chosen to ignore the posts about how tough it is.

Someone give me motivation to to get my butt in gear and study for another 40 hours this week! Please scare me with stories of AUD!! It has been so easy to slack on this section for some reason!

From my experience when I don't feel inclined to study at all I force myself to sit down in front of my material. For some people this is just like going to the gym. There are days where you don't want to go, but if you can force yourself to just go to the gym, not even thinking about working out, once you walk into the gym you get in the mood and will do your work out.

The same thing applies to studying. If you think about having to sit for hours studying you'll never want to do it. Start off by doing some multiple choice to get you thinking and involved. If you sit down and just start studying you're going to say forget this I hate this. So start off by trying to get you mind distracted from everything you could be doing. Once you get into the flow of things and start working the questions you'll get in the zone and then can go on to studying or watching the lectures or whatever.

I feel for you though, I am new to studying, about to take my first test FAR, and have logged like 180 hours and just don't feel like studying anymore. I force myself to sit in front of my desk and do some questions to warm up and it usually gets me ready to study.

You only have AUD left and it's your last one, so finish STRONG. When you underestimate something it comes back and bites you in the behind. You aren't done yet so you can either study and have a better chance of passing or not study, risk failing, and risk losing credit for your other tests.

You've come all this way and you are so close, you have been running a marathon, are you just going to lightly walk through the finish line? HELL NO. You're going to keep the same pace and finish strong.

Update: put on Pandora and started ripping through some MCQs. Averaging 77% which is not amazing, but not horrible.

@Mini and John – agree and well said. Goal is to get through another hour of straight A1 MCQ and then move on to the review of A2. The white board next to me is quickly filling up which reminds me just how much I need to understand before next Saturday.

    Thanks for your input!

    Count_712:

Get out your BEC, FAR, and REG books and flip through them for about 5 minutes. Then ask yourself, do I want to have to retake these?!

    AUD - 82 Becker
    BEC - 75 Becker
    REG - 71, 82 Becker
    FAR - 66,61,71,74,70 and #6 80!!!! FINALLY DONE!!! 9/20/12
Yaeger and Yaeger CRAM for the final battle!

    Great suggestion hillary!!

Seriously though, count_712, ignore the posts saying that AUD is easy. The questions are incredibly tricky because the answers aren't at all clear cut. I felt extremely prepared going into the exam, had enough time to double check all my MCQ and triple check my SIMS, and walked out feeling like I'd aced it. My BEC and FAR scores corresponded pretty closely to how I thought I'd done so I started thinking my AUD score would be in the mid to high 90's because I felt so much better about how I'd done on it than any of the other exams. I ended up getting a 85 which is a good score but not at all what I expected. If I hadn't been so prepared, I could have easily walked out thinking I'd scored in the high 80's but failing.

I don't know if you can cancel or cut down on your holiday plans, but it's only one weekend that you've given up if you pass AUD. If you don't, though, you'll be tied down with AUD for many more weekends and evenings next test window.

    FAR 4/1/11 - 89
    AUD 4/15/11 - 85
    REG 4/29/11 - 80
    BEC 5/13/11 - 85
