My BEC score report is based on the old BEC exam. This does not make sense. Someone else mentioned below that their AUD report was also based on 2010. I’m in CA….

Business Structures (17-23%) – Comparable <—- not even on the exam anymore

    Economics (8-12%) – Comparable

    Financial Management (17-23%) – Weaker

    IT (22-28%) – Stronger

Planning and Measurement (22-28%) – Weaker

    Overall score: 68

I just received mine with my failing BEC score of 73, but my report is for 2011. The score report shows that I was weak in Corp governance, financial mgmt and operations mgmt. I just purchased Yaeger after hearing all the great things abt Cindy's cost acctng teaching methods and am hoping to schedule BEC again for April end/early May. However, I have no idea how to study for corp governance…I did all the q's for corp gov from the Wiley book and the software and there were so few of them:( since this is a new section with no released q's…can anyone shed some light on how to study for it?

Is that a NASBA-issued score report?

My score report for BEC is also in the 2011 format. I was weak in Corporate Governance as well. I used Yaeger and Cindy emphasized knowing that section backwards and forward. Which I did. However, when I took the exam I noticed questions on it that I had never seen in the text or were previously tested on BEC in 2010 and supposedly moved to REG.

So, I just went and copied the three titles of SOX that are referenced in the BEC COSOs. I think this might be good to read for a retake. Am I allowed to say that info I was tested on is in SOX? I think I can since it's referenced. Anyway, there is a lot in there that is not in the Wiley book or mentioned by Cindy in her lecture. And the gaps are starting to fill in…..

    BEC- 73, 73, 80
    REG- 74, 83
FAR- 50(didn't study), 76 (<--How the heck did that happen?)
    AUD- 71, 71, 79!!!!!
    Finished!!

California generates a score report directly from their website (not sure if the question was directed at me)…..

I left a message for the CA Board of Accountancy. I'll let you know what brilliant answer they gave me. I'm guessing the answer will be “huh?”

Who prints the score reports – NASBA, right?

The score report is generated by the AICPA, isnt it? I'm not sure NASBA has anything to do with it. But in California, we get our score report instantly & directly from the CA Board of Accountancy website….

What exam section and state are people experiencing this?

Some states release their own reports (CA) and they apparently have not updated their template yet. Scores are legit – the report is just bad.

All of them are now being checked. Thanks everyone for getting the ball running on this…

@eartzi I am in CA too. My BEC score report is also in the 2010 format showing that I was “comparable” in Business Structure but no score for “Corp Governance” or “WC” or the percentage breakdown of how well/poorly I did in each of the areas.

I am sending an email to inquire about this…I am praying that they made an error on our results and will give us a passing score (wishful thinking as this is my last section).

@BEC – Unfortunately, the scores are legit and it's an error on the CA Board of Accountancy's part…I'm pretty sure this is just a California error…

Jeff or someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I really hope they get us the correct breakdown soon, as that is very important for future studying and analyzing what went wrong
