My score posted Thursday – 24 hours after the first release from the AICPA, but I was too afraid that I would see another non-passing score so I didn’t look at the score. I took BEC 4 other times with disappointing scores and was almost convinced it would happen again.

I finally looked at my score and saw a 79! I couldn’t beleive it, a 79 after 4 other times of the dreaded score below 75.

One important thing i re-learned taking these tests and reading the comments from Jeff and others on Another71, perserverance and determination will get you where you want to go!

I’ve taken FAR, REG, and AUD and passed. BEC was my nemisis, I took it 5 times and passed on the 5th session. Now I am on to next phase of becoming a CPA.

Good luck to all and to all a good night.

    REG | 80

    FAR | 76

    AUD | 80

    BEC | 74, 72, 72, 73, 79

@dasko576 what cpa software/material did you use to pass BEC? i am taking this exam for the 5th time in Jan2012.

this is the last cpa exam i need to take as i have passed the other 3 exams. i have used BECKER but find that BECKER is very weak in preparing you for BEC cpa exam.

    Congratulations on passing your exam!

Please let me know what cpa material you used to help you pass BEC.

    Thank you.

I used Becker for all four parts. However, I supplemented my studies using my good ol' Intermediate Accounting text, Jeff's BEC Ninja Notes, and the CPA Review for Free website cpareviewforfree. All three additions helped to solidify the vast amount of material contained in this section.

The area that seemed most problematic was Operations Management. For some reason, I couldn't wrap my head around budget variance analysis and kept getting mixed up on the differences between absorption and contribution margin cost methods.

Supplementing Becker with the other resources helped quite a bit. The different approaches and additional questions outside of the bank provided within Becker cemented the vast amount of disparate material.
