Isn't being on the bubble bad? Somebody was trying to tell me that they look for ways to get your more points but if they are concerned with keeping pass rates down, wouldn't they be looking for ways to deduct additional points?

How do you actually know you are on the bubble. I took BEC on the last day of the testing window.

I still have not received my score and am a little worried. I felt ok on the exam but as we all know you really just never know with these exams.. How hopeful is it to actually come out with a pass and when will we find out our scores? Especially since it is Thanksgiving week? I have already moved onto AUD which would be my last one and now I am wondering if I should go back to BEC. Thoughts? Is it common to be in the BEC Bubble? I just found out about this after researching why I didn't get my score. Really upset about it. I put a lot of time and energy into this one to be in the bubble. I was scoring 80s and 90s on the practice questions. 😕

Priavteye I would just move on to AUD. In my opinion BEC is a quick review before the retake. I took my exam October 22 (ithink) so I know I'm in the bubble.

I think being in the bubble is not necessarily a bad thing, so stay positive people. BEC pass rate is around 58%, almost 8% above other tests, so do not think they are looking towards pushing you down. Scores for BEC bubble ranges from 72-78 though. Lets all try to enjoy thanksgiving and come back on Monday.

Is that when we should get the scores? On Monday? Is there a chance to get them before the holiday?

Chances are that they dont work on Thursday and Friday. Some say it takes a week the most, my friend got it the next day. There might be a slight chance some scores are going to be released tomorrow, but I wont depend on it. Monday is the safest bet.

Did your friend pass? Is there really a 50/50 chance?

Yes, my friend got a 75. I would say there is a bit more chance of passing than failing while in the bubble. Nonetheless, there is also people who scored above 75 and being dragged into the bubble. I do not think they would subtract anybody points unless they were tossing in key words rather than trying to compile a full sentence.

So for all of us in the BEC Bubble hell…

“6. How do you score the written communications responses?
Most responses are scored by a computer grading program, which is calibrated using
human scorers. In some cases, responses are scored by a network of human graders
(all CPAs). If your score is close to the passing score, your written responses will be
automatically re-graded by human graders. When there is more than one grader for a
response, the average of the scores is used as the final grade.”

So the lead sentence in their answer starts with “Most responses.” From that we can safely understand most is not the same as all. From the second to last sentence we know if you are close to a passing score they automatically regrade. Sounds like there are 2 ways to end up in the bubble, one is to be “close to the passing score” while the other appears to be more random selection (the “some cases” rather than the “Most responses.”) May or may not be actually random, they may have some criteria for their selection process. No idea.

Thank you for that. It makes me feel a little better. I will be very disappointed if I fail. Hoping so much for a 75!

I'm mostly trying to make myself feel better. Somewhere this morning I remembered i was scoring high in Gleim on BEC, much higher than I did on either AUD or FAR both of which I passed. So being in real danger of actually failing doesn't really make sense.

gigabyte2001- that is how I felt. I was scoring anywhere from 80s-100s on MQC using ninja and roger.. The WC I was not so sure on because those were self graded so maybe that is why I am in this situation. I felt like I should have done ok on them though.. enough for at least a 75! Come on!
I did have complicated IT questions though that I had never heard of but I was hoping they were pretest.. Maybe not?

    Waiting is sheer torture 🙁
