I’m struggling with the simulations from the Becker software, some of them i would get 80-100% correct and the majority i would get 30-50% correct (per simulation).

Any thoughts on how I and others who are struggling with simulations can improve?

Are your lower scores on Becker possibly due to their answer being in different order or format than yours? I know this may seem like a stupid question, but it's an issue with the Wiley test bank.

Assuming that's not the case, I'd recommend you get lots of practice with JE. Make sure you understand not only how to do them, but what accounts are related to each other so you know which ones to consider if you're given a situation when you need to make adjustments. Practicing SIMS is good to become familiar with the format, but you're unlikely to see a SIM on the exam similar to one you've practiced. It's more efficient to firmly grast the concepts by doing a lots and lots of MCQ. Finally, time management isn't as big an issue on AUD as it is on other exams for most people. Take the time to carefully read the question and double check your answer. One of the most difficult aspects of AUD is the trickiness of the wording.

    FAR 4/1/11 - 89
    AUD 4/15/11 - 85
    REG 4/29/11 - 80
    BEC 5/13/11 - 85

kb24 has the details correct. I would spend more time with the concepts behind the MCQs. If you can get a good grasp behind the material being asked in the MCQs, then you should be able to make a good attempt at any Sim they throw at you. Make sure to read all MCQ answers to make sure you know why each answer given is wrong, and why the correct answer is in fact correct. For AUD, the only real benefit you get from practicing Sims is for the layout and practice in navigating the question. You may see J/Es in you AUD exam. I had two Sims with JEs in my first attempt, and none in my second. You never know, but better safe than sorry. Because of this, I think it is beneficial to take FAR before AUD.

I say do more sims Ive failed twice because of sims with stronger MC the margin of error is smaller on sims than MC.

FAR: 7/17/10 missed exam FML reschedule 8/29/10-77 EPIC!
    REG: 5/31/11-73 SMH, 8/31/11-85
    BEC: 4/15/10-72 : retake 10/3/10-80
    AUD: 11/28/10-74, 02/27/11-71 FML, 8/1/11-80
    Ethics 10/22/22-80, retake 11/28/11 - 88

    @WhyEvenTry

I took AUD yesterday and the sims were tough compared to the MCQs. I hope i don't need to take AUD again, because those sims are brutal.

The best advice I can give is to try to finish the multiple choice in ample time in order to research the sims. I found some pretty solid info that helped guide me through my Sims researching. If you can, try to give yourself in the range of 1:45 to 2 hrs for the sims.

    @ CPAer and all

Sorry to hear that, I hope you did enough.

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying the Sims are not important or worth looking at while studying. But, if time were limited (which it is), I would spend my study hours reviewing as many MCQs as possible to be ready for anything they throw a me. There can be so many different variations of Sims that they can throw at you, so they are extremely hard to prepare for. Just remember to save plenty of time to review each Sim at least twice. AUD is know to be an exam where time is not a factor. But, that doesn't mean you should leave 1 or 2 hours early. You paid for the entire 4 hours, so take it. Once you have reviewed everything at least twice and re-read the directions to not make silly erros, then you leave. I almost did this on an AUD sim, in a situation where it asked me to round the numbers to two decimals points. If I hadn't re-read everything in my review, I would have missed everything on that SIm. If you are unsure about the answer and feel totally lost, then use key words in the word search to find a starting point. It does help.
