@ hilaryh_88 ~ I have been comparable on the WC and weaker in MC usually. Some sections within the MC areas I received stronger and comparable in. My 2 weakest areas are Chapter 3 and Chapter 5 where I scored weaker in. I guess I just need to focus more on those areas. I will see what I get this time around and post maybe you can give me some advise on how to study for this part…

@CPAchic3 – I'm sorry to hear, that is rough but keep your head up, try different study material….you can do this.

@LordHelpMePass – Your not alone, although i am NY i am still waiting on FAR…i think they lost my score….

@hilaryh_88 – I doubt i did well on FAR, otherwise i would have my score by now, i am borderline for sure, hopefuly on the passing side! I've studied the same way for each section. I use Gleim, i read each section then answer the multiple choice questions. After i complete the book i review by answering as many multiple choice questions as possible using the Gleim question bank. On the day before i usually read Jeff's ninja notes.

CPAchic3 – Sure. For me, BEC was all about memorizing. I drilled myself in the Becker flashcards non-stop. When I got one right I set it in one pile and if I got one wrong I set it in another. Then I would keep going through the wrong pile until they were finally all into the right pile and then I would start all over until I could go through all of them without missing a single one. I would even read the answer and then ask myself what the question could possibly be asking about so I knew I wasn't just memorizing answers. I also did a lot of MC and practice exams.

Thanks MmarianoB. I might look into that Gleim question bank because I am concerned I am just memorizing the MC questions I have seen so often. I think someone posted earlier about the question bank being fairly cheap, like $50. Is that your experience with it?

@hilaryh_88 – yeah it's cheap. I bought it in combination with the book and it was around $90 total…so the question bank is probably around $50. I think you need to understand the basic concepts of the accounting material being tested (FAR, REG or whatever), memorizing doesn't always work unless you can apply it.

I hate BEC, I think it's the biggest crapshoot of all the sections. I mean, do they really expect us to memorize every single definition in the IT modules?? I guess they do, but still, it's freaking pointless and the majority of the IT subject material doesn't really apply to accounting as much as other subject areas do. I think it was straight up luck and a blessing that I even passed BEC. Sorry to all of ya'll who received a borderline score that wasn't in your favor 🙁 It's devastating for sure and the fact that you have to wait so loooooong to get your score is like adding insult to injury :-/ Anyway, keep at it and show AICPA what's up next go around!!! Annnnnd Congrats to those who are finally receiving their passing BEC scores, woohoo!!!

@mmarianoB can you call NASBA or whomever it is that is responsible for posting in your state? I have heard other people in other testing windows had to call bc the birthdate was wrong or something like that. I'm not in a NASBA state so I don't know how that works.
