Hello friends and A71ers,
I am a year and a half into my CPA journey and I could really use some advice. I passed BEC (on the second try) 13 months ago. After that I took FAR and REG twice each, failed, and like many of you was adversely impacted by the score release delays. I took AUD next since I work in audit, and I believe I did well, although I won’t know results until December 19th. I am also taking REG in December and will know those scores on December 19-22. My BEC credit expires in April, unfortunately between now and the end of busy season.
What I am REALLY struggling with is the fact that I feel I’m hanging out to dry with these delays and now my credit expiration is looming. I live in a state that isn’t making concessions for candidates affected by the delays unless they lost a score during Q2. But what about the rest of us? What about people who were seriously impeded by the delays and the response time for a *computerized* exam. I am not receiving the 18 months I was promised because my clock has been trimmed 1-3 months each for multiple exams. Anyone else with me on this? You wait and wait in the dark, unable to repurchase an NTS or know if you even NEED to be restudying. All the while the clock is ticking.
I know life isn’t fair, I know this is a barrier to entry thing, and I know that I’m not alone. I’ve just been working SO hard for so long. I’m reached such a low from a mental health standpoint that I don’t want to put myself through this any longer. If you have any advice or insight from the other side please share.
Side note: If anyone in Washington state has had success getting an extension for score releases, PLEASE reach out! I’ve been back and forth with the state board and NASBA and they keep redirecting me to someone at the opposite organization.
