74 and Hung Over

Imagine waking up with the most ridiculous hangover you’ve had since college, only to find out that you got a 74 on your last part of the exam. I don’t know what’s worse… getting a 74 on my second attempt at REG (72 the first time) and shattering my summer plans, or finding out that I got a 74 when I have a wicked hangover. FML

Hopefully I can bounce back from this and take it at the end of July. My summer schedule is pretty booked solid since Governmental Auditing season is in full swing, but I think I should be able to bust out REG. I’m just a little disappointed that I studied my ass off for another month after I failed REG the first time but only managed to increase my score by 2 points. How is that even possible?

When I get passed this crappy day of depression and headaches, I’ll sit down and write out my study plan. I already asked my co-worker to help tutor me in Individual taxes and Transactions in Property (my two low points), so that’s a start.

I will defeat REG and be a CPA, it’s just going to take a little longer than I expected.

    Thanks for hearing me vent.

I know how you feel. I know that I knew more going into REG the second time, but somehow I scored lower. I know it's because of my stupid simulations. I got much harder simulations the second time. I also scored Weaker in Individual Taxation… probably AMT, I really didn't have a good handle on that.

    Sigh…

You guys think that's bad, try watching your score fall from 70 (within striking distance) to 60 (not even close). I am almost 100% positive it's because of the sims. Anyways this has been a horrible week for me, from finding out the 64 on FAR (which I studied 3 months for) to the 60 on REG. I've also got Audit on 7/5 and this won't help my confidence. I'm starting my last 10 days of review tomorrow.

My problem seems to be that I sign up for the tests before I am 100% ready – in fact before I officially start studying. Rather, I need to stop this and wait until I get to the review stage before I sign up for anything. I just have this bad habit of really wanting to rush this and get it over with. I have to be careful otherwise I'm going to lose credit for BEC before I know it :/

    Starting fresh in 2010 w/Becker!
    BEC: 74,80 (expired), 78 - FAR: 64, 60, 74, 68, 76 - REG: 70,60,75 - AUD: 74,78
Can't change the past but I CAN make the future.
    DONE - 6/8/13. After 6 LONG YEARS.

Everyone on this thread particularly the poster Ducktales I feel for ya. REG is a beast, I knew the sims would end up being my demise and they were. Was hoping that somehow I'd pull it out since everyone else had similar experiences with those darn sims(which I am not even sure how to study for them!). I am going to try and put in some studying about 7 of the next 9 weeks and retake in late Aug, figure why rush into a retake when I can only sit once per window and the scores are getting released late September no matter when I sit. Now the question is do I try and supplement becker with gleim/wiley or just stay on course and try and nail down the material better. Leaning towards just sticking with what I've done and hoping I can perform 2 points better next time. Wishing we all couldve had hangovers TOMORROW after better news today, but oh well.
