Nothing yet .. I would guess by next week. Haha, I refused to use the excel because it is not enough like actual Microsoft Excel. The functionality of the multiple tabs for the simulations was clutch, however.

@collegeathletetocpa I didn't use it at all for FAR or AUD.

@eric Agree 100% on the multiple tabs. Made all my DRS sims manageable…I think that helped me pass barely because I flagged so many Multiple choice, i didnt feel confident on them at all.

I used only the new Excel feature for the entire FAR exam. Never opened the calculator.

I second @ChiliChil motion! The excel feature is the main reason I finally passed REG. I used it for MCQ's and TBS. All you have to do is plug in numbers into formulas. The sheet can then be formatted in any way required by the questions in the exam. I also used it for a retake of AUD (worked like a charm) and planning to use it for FAR and retake of BEC.

I always studied FAR using excel, so I always had excel open during the exam. It was very useful for t accounts and to double check some of my answers.

Wow, is Q2 always way higher than Q1?

@Nate – I compared to 2017 and the pass rates did jump up in Q2 compared to Q1, although these are some of the highest percentages I have seen as of late…

@Eric, I've never examined score rates much, but that does seem like an extremely high pass rate for one quarter. 55% for REG and 60% for BEC alone is way higher than I ever remember seeing.

Wow, what the… I have never seen rates that high recently? BEC and REG might be a record high.

From the AICPA “When reviewing these pass rates, you should remember that candidates are evaluated against an established standard of competence, and that the Exam is scored and scaled so that scores are comparable across test forms and over time. The Exam is not harder or easier to pass at different times. An increase in pass rates simply means that candidates are better prepared.”

Do you guys think the new software really helped that much? I definitely think I picked up numerous points on the sims from being able to see/flip through multiple documents much easier

Higher pass rates. I was lucky to be included as one for Audit.

I would say that the format changes helped slightly, but I cant see it increasing the passing percentages by that much! I'm going to role with there must be a shortage of CPA's lately more so contributing to that increased pass rate lol

As crazy, interesting, and sometimes reasonable that they can be to think about, I don't like believing conspiracy theories.. so my theories from my own experience for higher pass rates in Q2 are:

-Early Q1 test takers were less prepared due to the holidays (definitely happened to me with FAR failure)
-New grads taking exam in Q2?
