I suppose there are some of you here that might be in the similar situation I am in, or would be having this type of issue.

What happen if my F-1 student visa is about to expire, and i have passed only 1 part of the exam that I need a valid visa to come back to US to finish the exam?

Could I come back in the US with a travel visa (B-2)? I gives me a maximum of 6 months per visit.

6 months is enough to pass at least 2 part of the exam or maybe 3.

I wanted to come back to US because as we all know, once you pass 1/4 of the exam, the clock is ticking, I have another 18 months to finish the exam.

And it is always better to stay at the same place to study for the exam until I accomplished all four parts of the exam.

I plan to come back to US and just to stay with my relatives, and all I do is to study like crazy for the CPA until im done with it.

I am not sure where your home country is, there are a lot of testing locations where people can take USCPA now…you have to be the citizen of that country. You might want to check into that route.

Before that option was available to those non-US residents(a few years ago), they used to travel here to take all 4 parts in one week or so. I know some people who did it. Pretty amazing.

    Hope it helps.

It sounds like you're in your home country right now, so basing off that assumption… If you're thinking that you can study for 1 section in 3 months (aka 6 months long enough to do 2), then I would say study for a section before you come, take it shortly after coming – say in the first week – and then use the 6 months to do 3 months each for the last 2 sections. (Like, come the end of February, take REG, then study 3 months, take AUD in May, study 3 months, take BEC the 2nd-to-last week of August right before leaving.)

How soon can you do another 6-month visa? Like if you found out you failed AUD, could you come back 6 months later on another 6-month visa and re-take AUD?

As an F1 student I presume you have a Social Security Number and have been issued a driver’s license before?

Social Security numbers does not expire unless your situation is very extreme, what you need to worry about is your driver’s license.

Once you’re granted a 6month visa, you can renew your driver’s license upon entry (if the old one has expired).

Please remember that each states DMV have their own rules when it comes to issuing driver’s license, you will not qualify for a renewal in some states if you are on B2- which is a tourist visa. So check with the state that you’re planning to visit.

The other option available to you is to contact your board to see if they can issue you an ID to sit for the exams. I know some of the states have this system in place for a fee.

You can also use your passport as a valid ID. Check with your state before you make any move.

Hope this helps and good luck!!
