    Hi all,

I am a new member of another71 and so glad to join this forum. I am from a country in Southeast Asia and currently I am pursuing my Master Degree at MA, US. I still wait for my transcript evaluation result from ECD and hope that everything will be fine so I could quickly start with my CPA journey. My decision to follow CPA is based on my dream is to work for Big 4 in the US. I will graduate by 2015 and I hope that one day I could post another entry to share my feeling of passing CPA.

However, sometimes I just wonder myself, why did I come here? I had an offer from a firm in Big 4 in my country and may be it will be better for me if I work there, accumulate experience, get a secondment or apply for a MBA course in the US. But I decided to study my Master Degree since the school gave me a big scholarship. But for this scholarship, I agreed to study in a small school, with very limited connection with Big 4, and I asked myself again, “you are such an idiot, is it worth it”! But nothing could be changed right now. Last week, I have just failed my interview with a firm in Big 4 US for summer internship. I guess the problem here is my communication skills, since I have just been here for 3 months. I felt so disappointed about myself but now I have overcome that feeling. I hope that by taking CPA and improve my English, I could get a job at Big 4 one day.

Wish everyone will get a good result in the incoming CPA tests. We can do it. Yes! We will conquer CPA.

cpacracker keep working hard and you will achieve all of your goals.

I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:

"Do 5000 multiple choice questions for each section"

No no, not Filipino dodgerdawg 😀

I have another question is that in which sequence I should follow to take CPA? Many people recommend me to register for FAR first. And how many tests should I register for each time? Thank you very much!

I think FAR has the most overlap of material with other sections, so it should probably be taken first based on my very limited experience. Studying the financials statements from FAR will help with audit section and studying the fixed asset section will help with cost accounting on BEC.

How long is your Notice to Schedule valid for once paid? I sat in California and ours were good for 9 months, but I know of other states where they were only good for 6 months. Depending on what your situation is, you'll probably register just for 2 but perhaps for 3 if you're in a 9-month state.

Thanks for your support, Study Monk and Dodgerdawg. To be honest, I still wait for the evaluation result from Center for Educational Documentation for my transcript before I could officially apply for the test at Massachusetts. However, I believe that I will be able to take the test during 2014. I think that preparing for other things now is what I should do. I search for Notice to Schedule for MA but I have not seen it yet.

Another thing is that what kind or materials I should use for the test? Could I use the 2013 materials for the 2014 test?
