Just passing cpa exams will not give you any extra advantage. Even US citizens having US qualifications and passed CPA exams having problems to get jobs even in small cpa firms nowadays especially. Big4 taking their candidates directly from Universities most of the time. It will be very expensive for them to hire someone from outside, as they have a lot of potential candidates from US. Its my personal opinion that its not possible, but if u know someone at big4 companies at managerial level then may be you can get a chance.

I thought Big4 usually have transfer programs in place so that you could transfer to work in another country if there was a position available?

I have heard of others doing that but that was usually in the opposite direction – US to Global.

We are middle class people, we have no other option, we have to get good qualification and hope for the better opportunity one day will come in our careers, every cpa is not a successful cpa there are a lot of other factors for success and cpa is only one of them,,,,,,,like in big4 when u became senior associate then next step is manager if u have CPA u can become manager otherwise not,,,CPA for sure make it little easy to find a good job or at least a job,,,,

The CPA will soon become the new standard in the accounting field. AICPA is trying to control the pass rate, which is around 45% but it's a 45% out of more than 100,000 candidates in comparison to the numbers from before, which I'm sure were far less.

I was looking at the 2011 statistics of my state and there's more than 160% increase in the total number of test takers in comparison to 2004.

I would say that there's no hope for non-US CPAs to obtain visas/green cards solely based on the fact that they are CPAs.

Look for transfers/internships at your current firm. They might send you to the US for couple of years.

As for job hunting, it all depends on where you are located (look for big cities), and how qualified you are for a position. Not many companies are paying for VISA and relocation expenses these days unless you have a specialization; CPA by itself is not enough.

    Done 😉
    Class of 2012!!!!
Lots of prayers and hard work....
