I thought the examination is the hardest part of becoming a CPA, but it seems not. Hope some one can help me with that. I passed all 4 exams, have a BS degree in Accounting from the US, and completed 150 credit hours some of which are foreign credits and here is the confusion. As I’m applying for NY CPA license which typically requires one year of experience under a licensed CPA, their instructions are not clear enough regarding foreign credits, they say that foreign credentials need 4 years of experience. Does anyone know if this applies to me even though I graduated in the US?

4 years of experience is required for licensure by Endorsement. If you are applying for initial license, you need just 1 year of experience.
