Hello everyone. My question concerns the work experience requirement in Illinois. I understand that the state does not require the work experience hours to be under the direct supervision of an active CPA. But beyond that, the language becomes very vague.

It basically reads as though work performed in ANY sort of accounting function (public or private) will qualify as valid hours. My question would be, does anybody know how far this can be stretched?

Specifically, does anybody know if work in an Accounts Payable role would qualify? I seriously doubt that it would… would seem to me to be one heck of a stretch but who knows. If anyone has an answer or could even set me on the right path to finding the answer I would be very grateful.
