i am looking to get licensed in Illinois and called the licensing division to ask if there was a conflict of interest for my parents to sign off on my work experience. I do all the accounting for the family pizza place but taxes are done by our CPA. The lady on the phone just kep repeating the instructions on the licensing application without telling me anything useful. I even asked her if she needed any documents etc other than the form signed and she had no cluee.
Has anyone got licensed in Illinois? Did they ask for any additional documents to prove experience other than the form on the licensing application? my parents english is not very good.

No additional docs required. All you need is the sign off by the person who supervised your work. That supervisor need not be a cpa nor have any financial experience or credential.
