Wisconsin CPA statutes

    Hi all,

Last year, Wisconsin changed its requirements to sit for the CPA to 120 credits (150 still required for licensure).

Does anyone know if there are specific course requirements that are included in these 120 credits? For example, would the 120 have to include all required accounting classes (financial, cost, audit, tax, business law, plus additional business credits)? Or, is the 120 simply total credits required. I only need to take audit to graduate with my accounting degree, but will not graduate until spring 2016 (with 150 credits in four years). So I am not yet finished with my accounting curriculum, but have completed 120 total hours.

Does anyone know if I am eligible under the new laws? I would like to begin taking exams this summer (likely FAR or REG) so that I could complete all four exams before I graduate in spring 2016.

    Thanks!

    mwr

Each state is different, but I know they're all trying to go towards a more uniform requirement. So if it's anything like California, then yes…the 120 units includes the 9 Accounting classes you would have taken as an accounting major.

    AUD: 83
    FAR: 77
    REG: 86
    BEC: 86

it is not currently uniform at all, but you can sit through a more favorable state if you don't meet the requirements of the one you live in then transfer back to be licensed. It costs some extra money though.

    Florida CPA!
    Took final exam 2/25/15.
    Sent in Application 3/12/15.
    Issued License 3/20/15.
Used CPA Excel solely for all exams.
