i sent email to NJ state board of accountancy regarding work experience requirement as I work for internal audit, not in public accounting firm. Someone replied the email with a contact number telling me to call them to ask the question. So I called them, and asked about work experience requirement. The lady who picked up the phone cut me right in the middle of question, and said that they don’t answer to specific questions. She told me to wait until NASBA sends me some notification email. I asked her approximately how long does it usually take to receive that email from NASBA. then she said she doesn’t know, telling me to just wait.
I was a little bit embarrassed, and said I wanted to get some info because I had no clue on the next step after passing all exams. She responded right back saying “I have no clue either”
Is this situation normal to other state boards of accountancy as well?
