    Hello all,
I have seen various threads for processing time in “XX” state, but haven’t seen any for Texas. I passed my last exam in June. I just recently obtained the required work experience this week. I mailed the Application for issuance and all required documents on Tuesday. Has anyone applied recently and have an idea of approximately how long this will take? Hoping it’s not as long as some of these other states (NY, CA, etc.).

    Thanks in advance!
    Chandler

I was wondering about experience requirement for TX (might move to Dallas in couple months), does it have to be a year working full time or do they want hours? One website says: “1 year work experience defined as diversified non-routine accounting gained through client practice of public accountancy, industry, government, law firm, education or internship (which is a case-by-case approval). ” State board website i think says 2000 hours of attest work.. I have 6 months experience doing reviews and 6 audit..both full time but two different firms.. will that work?

Any recommendations on the Rules of Professional Conduct Exam?

Paulb – when you think you have them all knocked out, and are confident, save it and close it out. Take a day, then go back in and review everything. You get 48 hours. I knocked it out quickly, thought it was easy, and got an 84. Now I have to wait two weeks before taking it again. There are 30 questions. 5 are pretest so they don't count. You can only miss three of the actual 25 questions. Its even open book, some of those are just confusing on how they word them. I guarantee if I would have went slower and went back and checked I would have been fine. Doh!

Hey guys. I’ve passed along my parts and still need a year of experience but my application form said it’s expired 6 months from 12/12/2018. I haven’t had enough experience. What should I do? TIA

Hi @Nikkie320, Congrats on passing. Your scores do not expire once all are passed. The application itself, really does not expire. The fee on it is subject to change after 6 months. When you get your experience requirements and anything else they may need you should call the state board to verify the fee you should send in. To my knowledge, it has not changed recently. Also, the state board can mail you a replacement application at no cost.

I anticipate passing my fourth section in Q1, but I still need to do the ethics course, fingerprints, professional conduct exam, and of course the application. I know I cannot do the application and professional conduct exam until they send it to me, but how should I handle the other things? Can I go ahead and knock out the ethics and fingerprints? Should I send those in now, or wait and send it all in with my application? Do I need to send anything for the ethics course or does the provider submit our attendance?

To my knowledge. If you submitted the fingerprint before you sat for the exam. You don’t have to do it again.
Ethic course needs to be within 6 months of the application. Right now what you can do is to get the experience forms filled out and get in contact with people you have worked under to prove that that you have worked full time for at least 1 year. The oath can also be done quickly at the bank or UPS with a notary prior to submitting your application.

That is correct. Ethics needs to be done within 6 months of application. You will get a certificate with your course (online or in person) that you submit a copy of with the application. No need to do fingerprinting twice if you already did it before sitting. Fingerprinting is automatically turned in for you. Probably best to send in the ethics CPE certificate with your application to reduce the chance they get separated. Also, you'll need to send updated transcripts if there have been any changes since you first submitted. As @Nikkie suggested, go ahead and get the experience forms filled out if you've met the requirements.
