Texas Processing Time

    Hello all,
    I have seen various threads for processing time in “XX” state, but haven’t seen any for Texas. I passed my last exam in June. I just recently obtained the required work experience this week. I mailed the Application for issuance and all required documents on Tuesday. Has anyone applied recently and have an idea of approximately how long this will take? Hoping it’s not as long as some of these other states (NY, CA, etc.).

    Thanks in advance!
    Chandler

    I'm also curious! I'm in Texas and got my final passing score on Monday.
    I did call the qualifications office of the state board to ask about the application process and the man I spoke with was very friendly and helpful. He said once you receive your final passing score, you'll get the application in about a week. Once they get your application back, it takes them about 1-2 weeks to sign off and then they email the professional conduct exam. You have a couple days to complete it, I can't remember how many. Then the following Friday, you'll get an email with your license number. Not sure how accurate this is as I haven't been through it myself yet. Hopefully someone else answers with better info!

    Ok cool thanks @Kris10_i! I received an email from the state board I think the day or two after I passed the final section, and the application came about a week later. Since I was waiting for the work experience, I didn't send it back with the rest of the info until this week. Also, at some point, be sure to knock out the 4 hour ethics CPE course requirement, and get the fingerprinting done if you haven't already.

    I got the fingerprinting done for the application of intent about a year ago. Do we have to do it again? I don't remember seeing anything about that on the website but could very well have missed it.

    Nope- you shouldn't have to if you get it done before you sat. They will still have it on file. Some people don't get it done until after they have passed the exams.

    Great info, thank you. I just received my passing scores this score release and am in Texas. While I am waiting on my application, I gave my boss the work experience form and got the oath of office notarized. I purchased the online ethics cpe course and plan to knock that out this weekend. That way when I get the application I can send everything in within a few days. Here’s to hoping for a quick turn around. Congrats all!

    @HDCPA congrats on the passing scores. I will be sure to post an updated timeline when available.

    Got my passing scores Tuesday and received my eligibility application today. That was quick! Granted I’m in Temple which for mailing purposes is next day from Austin. Y’all should be receiving yours soon if not already. I did my ethics CPE course this morning (super easy btw – no need to prepare). Here’s to hoping my boss fills out the work experience forms I gave him last week in the next couple of days. Will let you know how it all goes. BTW the eligibility application is the easiest form to date.

    @Chandler,
    How's the process coming along? I mailed my packet on 9/17 and USPS notified me that it was delivered this morning. That's all I got for now.

    @DTXCPA,
    Not so well for me. I haven't heard anything from the state board, and they still haven't cashed my check. Should have known better than sending it without tracking I suppose LOL. I contacted the state board and they said they haven't received my application yet, so they are sending a replacement. I guess on the bright side I made copies of my work experience forms, etc. so I don't have to worry about that again. I'll be over-nighting all of the stuff very soon if I haven't heard anything by the end of the week.
    Hopefully, the process goes a little easier for you.

    I have everything in a folder filled out and waiting on my boss to give me back the experience forms. Its been a week now, and I think my boss is about to go out of town for two weeks. Patiently waiting lol.

    @HDCPA, I feel your pain lol. I've been practicing accounting since I was 19, but all of a sudden once I hit all of the requirements time feels like it is dragging.

    Update- it appears they have received my application/fee. My profile on the TSBPA website updated status from “Passed all Sections” to “Certification in Progress.” I will continue updating and post a final timeline as applicable. Cheers

    That's awesome! There seems to be a lag. According to USPS my package was delivered yesterday morning at 10 am, but I just called the board and they said they haven't received it yet.
