Texas Application of Intent – Can I send it in during undergrad?

    Hi,

I realize that I should include transcripts with my Application of Intent, but it’s also true that a candidate does not have to wait until his education requirements are met in order to submit the application. How does this work?

I graduate undergrad in May, and will then take 6 more hours of accounting at Houston Community College to meet the 30-hour accounting requirement (all others are met). If all goes well, I will then sit in the fall, after completing the remaining courses in the summer and studying my tail off.

Should I submit my application now and list those six hours of intended courses on it(despite not having credit yet), or will they simply send it back to me with a deficiency (no transcript)?

Should I fill in my number of total credit hours as the number I will have when all is said and done or up until this point in time?

Basically, is the point to get your intentions approved, or do they only approve the application when you actually educate those intentions.

I really want to make sure there are no surprises coming up, thus why I would like to submit now rather than end of summer. I guess I’m just really confused what purpose the Application of Intent serves vs the eligibility application.

Sending an application of intent early would help you determine that your undergrad hoursto this point have been approved. It also would confirm how many classes you have left.

Some people send it in early to make sure the classes meet the requirements. If you're quite sure yours do, then it really serves no purpose sending it in early.
