    Hello,

Does anyone know if you can sit in NJ without a bachelors degree? I have 130+ credits but do not have a bachelors as I graduate in December. I heard you can request an exception or something as long as you graduate in a certain period of time? I cannot find the answer online. I hope someone has gone through this and knows!!! Let me know,

    thanks

Offhand, I don't think you can; however, you should just call (or email) the Board of Accountancy.

NO you cannot sit without a Bachelor's degree. I think even though you don't have 150 credits, and if missing some accounting or required courses per the old rule; then you get an exception. But bottom line is your degree has to be conferred on the transcript regardless of any field in Bachelor's degree. But, still speak with NASBA.

Literally a two second google search:

    https://nasba.org/exams/cpaexam/newjersey/

    BEC - 80
    AUD - 64, 75 - credit lost, 90!!
    REG - 73, 74, 83
    FAR - 61, 72, 85

Feels good finishing on my best note. Time to watch the mailbox.

sorry I asked @Pandarama, some states have exceptions that you can sit as long as you complete education with 6 months of taking tests.

@ymmit – Yes it depends. But it is up to you from where you want to get your license. For example you might meet that state XXY requirement and start your application from that state, and schedule your exam and take it physically in NJ.
