Reciprocity

Just curious if anyone has gotten their CPA License in one state and then got a job in another state and had to apply for reciprocity. I know it varies by state but just wondering how complicated this usually was. I am currently taking the exam in North Carolina but have a job offer in South Carolina so wasn’t sure how this would work.

Contact the SC board of accountancy:

On a side note, it doesn't matter where you take your exam since it is uniform. In other words, if you move before you finish your exams, you can sit for the exams at a Prometric center in SC and apply it to your licensure in NC.

I work in Mayland and have a Pennsylvania License. I am not sure about the reciprocity issues in all states but in Maryland if you practice as a CPA for five years you can be a Maryland CPA.

    FAR 82
    REG 76
    BEC 81 I'm officially a CPA!
