For those of us who are unfortunate enough to have to deal with the Illinois Board of Examiners over the last week the online system that we use to check our scores, apply to take the exam, apply for retakes, etc. has been down!

Talk about bad timing on behalf of the state. This is utterly ridiculous and I’m not going to sit here and have them give me the ole “it should be fixed by the end of today” bull. That is the literal answer I’ve gotten from them.

So, to put some pressure on them, I encourage all IL candidates and candidates to be (or if you’re not in IL but feel like calling them anyway), to call ILBOA and ask them when the site will be fixed, why it’s broken, how long they expect for it to be down, and if they understand the pressure/frustration/importance of the website being up.

@spur when you called the ILBOA office did they say anything about the score release?? What if the site is down and they release the scores? Can we call and get our scores?

I'm not sure as I've given up. I figure its not worth my frustration. I'm assuming the worst case scenario. No scores till the new year.

However, it's probably worth the call to see what is going on.

I just called to bug them. 🙂 A wonderful man with mono-tone voice answered the phone, and stated that the operating system should've been done yesterday, and they hope it will be done today. They do plan to post scores when they receive them, Friday. I'm NOT supposed to expect my score UNTIL the target date, which is FRIDAY the 20th! Well thank you Mr. Mono-tone, at ILBOA!! Happy freakin' Holidays! LOL 🙂 I'm wishing and hoping they get this thing fixed before Friday! I want my score Dang it!!

I've had exactly the same experiences as all of you. I'm waiting for my last score and need to know if I have to apply for a retake. I start work in early January and would really like to have this all taken care of ASAP. This is incredibly frustrating. When I called last Friday, they said it should be up yesterday. They had all weekend to work on the website, but chose to take those days off instead. Hey, its not their scores, not their exam applications, not their livelihoods, so what does it matter to them? I hope they enjoyed their long relaxing weekend.

ILBOA site is something else. It's funny. I hope they get this fixed by the end of this week.

I would like to know my FAR score (extended period). But for now, I'll be patient and continue studying. I will be giving them a call if nothing changes by Friday.

Does anyone know if this will affect the reporting of Ethics exams? I just completed mine on Saturday while the ILBOA web-portal was down. Hope they get my scores. That test takes way longer than it should for only being a handful of questions.

Does anyone know the reason ILBOA doesn't utilize the NASBA site to release scores? I saw something on there website referring to the fact that they don't usually release scores early because they feel like candidates should be studying, as opposed to refreshing for the scores page all day (paraphrased) . If there is any truth to that it is awfully hypocritical to let such a major malfunction occur to your website when other states are busy releasing scores. In my opinion an early score release benefits candidates and symbolizes that you can efficiently do your job. I am pretty biased though.
