Here’s a link to an article from the Sacramento Business Journal I found interesting.

    https://www.bizjournals.com/sacramento/news/2012/09/14/which-schools-have-top-cpa-pass-rates.html

Where does your school rank? Mine is right in the middle at 15.

    B 71 - 79 EXPIRED
    A 69 - 75 EXPIRED
    R 65 - 48 - 45
    F 56 - 61 - 65 - 64

Still need 30 more credits, in basket weaving (gotta love new CA requirements)

I'm not sure what the correlation is between undergrad program and success on the CPA Exam.

I see articles like this, but I'm not sure I see the relevance (??)

I thought this was just showing how many graduates from those schools actually passed in 2011. Because they keep track of our schools as they have our transcripts… or did I not read the article right 😛

CA CPA - All because of the journey listed below

Well – it's ranked by pass rate … unless I'm missing something as well 🙂

yes, looks like it is by pass rate.

With that said, I agree with Jeff. I don't think this list tells me a whole lot except for, perhaps, which programs are more selective than others. I would, however, be more interested if the tuition cost was included next to each of these schools.

    REG - Passed!!
    BEC - Passed
    FAR - Passed
    AUD - Passed

Remember, some of those schools don't have an accounting major. Alot of the UCs, for example, only have an Accounting Minor.

And I could see a lot of other factors that could play into the numebrs as well. Like also which ones offer grad programs.

Berkeley at #1 doesn't have a BS or MS in accounting. They have an accounting certificate program, that's not really UC Berkeley proper. How'd it get so high of a rank?

I just realized that Stanford isnt on the list. Wonder why….? Did they not have 20 graduates take the exam? That must be it. Weird.

Isn't Davis one of the bigger UC's? Hard to imagine that they didn't have 20+ grads sit for the exam.

I guess it's possible that their pass rate was sub-18%?

i heard Davis only offers 2 accounting courses: financial and managerial accounting. Kind of hard to satisfy the CPA requirement with only 2 course.

I went to UC Davis, there's no accounting major there. I had to take classes at UCLA Extension in order to sit for the exam. Does UC Davis or UCLA Extension get credit for me passing the exam?

I also went to Davis and only got into accounting after graduating. If you want to major in science, any and every science major you can think of, Davis is the place to go.

They don't have an accounting major and when I was there they also had no “Business” major instead it was called “Agricultural Economics”

I did all my accounting units after college through UC Berkeley Extension. I did the accounting certificate that @earob mentioned.

    GO AGS!

    What up Chupacabra!

Few more weeks til SF! I'm still down for a A71 meetup when all gets settled. We should round everyone up 😀

Davis would have been tight to go to. I visited their's and St Mary's campuses when I was in HS, but California schools were tough for me to get in to.
