Question about sending in transcripts (CA)

    Hi,
I have completed the CPA exams and need to send in transcripts.
I remember when first applying for the CPA exam, I had to fill out a form and list out educational institutions I had attended. After finishing the exams, I took a class at a community college that was not on the list for my exam application. Is it ok to send a transcript from that institution or do I need to first notify the CBA? I am no longer taking the exams so I feel like it would be backwards to update my exam application.

    Thanks in advance!

If you login onto the CBA website, you can add another school on the “Education Info” tab before sending in your transcripts.

I didn't know they required you to send transcripts AFTER passing the exams. Weird. I'm in CA too.

Isn't the CBA account linked to the application for the CPA exam? I actually haven't began the application process for licensure (since I wanted to get my transcripts among other things in first) so idk if there's a chance to do it there.

And I didn't take accounting ethics until AFTER I passed the exams so now I need to send it in aha.

From my understanding, OP probably doesn't have 150 units. You can sit for the exam as long as you have a bachelor's degree, I believe, but in order to get licensure, you still have to get 150 semester units, in addition to meeting those specific “accounting/business” classes criteria.

Huh, interesting. I think you have to have X number of semester hours of accounting/business/other coursework plus the degree, or just have the degree itself (which encompassed those requisite hours.) I just remember having 3 of my schools send in transcripts to the CBA before being given notice that i could start buying NTS's.

You don't need to mess with the exam site any longer….just order the transcripts from school, and send directly to CBA.

Had to do same as the OP….

I did the same thing you did after passing my tests and working on my CA Ethics exam. I will call the CBA to see if they received them next week. I sent the transcripts from my institutions directly to the CBA last week. I am applying for my license next week so I will call by the end of the week to see if they received the transcripts.

    Good luck to you!

Thank you! Let me know if it worked out for you. I think I'm just going to follow the above advice and send them directly to the CBA. Thanks everyone!
