Hello Everyone,
I am trying to get my CPA license with the State of Maine, however, when I read about their work experience requirements, I note that it includes the following – “Maine Law requires that the applicant’s experience must include the use of accounting or auditing skills, including the issuance of reports on financial statements, and at least one of the following: the provision of management advisory, financial advisory or consulting services; the preparation of
tax returns; the furnishing of advice on tax matters; or equivalent activities defined by the Board.”I work for a small firm and we don’t provide audit services, however, I do prepare financial statements and tax returns for client… I know it is a dumb question but is financial statement preparation a part of “the use of accounting skills”? My firm is in CA, I am afraid that I may need to take more classes to get license in CA… Thanks so much if anyone can share some insights…
