    Hello,

I’m about to lose my mind. The GA license board just came back and said that I don’t meet the license requirement (I only have 24 of the 30 credit hours). Now, I don’t know what my transcript says (bc I couldn’t open it), but this sounds right, because I chose to get a double major instead of getting my masters in accounting (Finance and Accounting). By double majoring and getting 154 credit hours, I was eligible to sit for the exam (only 150 required credit hours).

Now, assuming that they are right (I only have 24 credit hours), is there anyway I could still get my CPA exam WITHOUT having to go back to school for 2 accounting classes?! And WHY ARE THE EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE CPA EXAM AND LICENSE DIFFERENT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

    Please, anyone, help me……… 🙁

Many if not all states will let you sit for the exam before you've met all of the licensing requirements. Usually you can start taking the exam with only 120 credits but still need 150 to get licensed.

If you want to get licensed in GA you'll probably need to just take those 2 classes. Be clear on making sure what counts and does not (some states require a certain # of upper level courses, some specify how many need to be auditing, etc.)

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

Massachusetts CPA (non reporting) since 3/12.

If you have to take classes, you can do it on line by enrolling in the in University of North Alabama PAP Program. Its cheap (costs 475 for 3 credit hour course), convenient (everything delivered on line), it's accepted by GA and depending on your pace you can complete the course with in a few days. If you wish to pursue this option, you have to get enrolled before Oct 31 the dead line for fall semester enrollment ( if you enroll before Oct 31, you will get your transcript by Dec 5, 2014).
