I have a “what to do next” question for CA candidates…

I have selected my sections from the Californial Board of Accountancy website.

My home page now says the ATT has been sent to NASBA.

I think I am just waiting on a payment coupon?

(when should I expect to see this? email or snailmail? or online through login???)

Then once I pay I wait for a NTS?

Maybe I am making this way more complicated.

phew — just got an email saying i could now pay for my exams. i was afraid there was a delay due to my DUI!

Thanks for the update. Will you keep me informed of the day you pay and how when you receive your NTS? It seems I am going to be a couple of days behind and I'm just anxious.

Yes unfortunately, DUI. I was really worried because I did a Google search and it appears they might have to review my individual case to see if I'd be eligible to get a CPA license at all, even after I get my 1 year experience and pass all 4 parts.

But I figure, if they're willing to let me sit for the exam, they should let me get my license given that I stay out of trouble.

Anyway, my timeline is like this: signed up for the ATT sometime late evening on Dec 11th, received the Payment Coupon Notification today (Dec. 19th) in the afternoon. I just got home and paid for the 2 parts I signed up for (FAR/AUD) — came out to $390 something.

The NASBA website says I should receive my NTS within 4 business days of when I pay — so hopefully by this Friday (Dec. 23) — although the receipt page itself said to call if I haven't received it within 14 days.

Yikes..even if I receive my NTS by Dec 23, I feel like it's cutting a little too close to when I'd prefer to test, which is the end of January.

When does it get busy (to the point where people are expected to stay late and come in on weekends) during busy season for regional firms? If Prometrics is all booked, I might have to push the exam to the beginning of February but I'm afraid it'll disturb our busy season schedule..

Oh btw, I'm in California.

just finished signing up for my 2 exams — sign up AS SOON AS YOU receive your NTS! i had to postpone my FAR a couple of weeks into February and had to take AUD a week earlier than scheduled because i couldn't fit a seat at the centers close to me

Is there anyone else that has re-applied for the NTS this month (sept 2013) and has noticed on the CBA website it is stuck on Step 4? It's been like that for a week now.

“Remittance Payment Received. (Step 4)

Your application payment has been received by the Board. You have now completed Step 4 in the CPA Exam application process. Upon application approval you will receive notification from the Board to select exam sections.”
