Hi everyone,
I passed all 4 exams in 2014 as a California candidate because when I graduated school in AZ I had already accepted an offer at a big 4 in CA so I applied and took the exams as a CA candidate. I planned to stay long enough in CA where I would meet the work requirements to get licensed there but unfortunately had to move back to AZ for personal reasons.
My first question: once you pass all 4 exams, do the scores ever expire regardless of what state you were a candidate in?
The reason I ask is because if I ever decide to meet the educational requirements here in AZ, do my exams scores transfer? I never applied for licensure in CA so I hope my exams would transfer. But I know it isnt always that easy. The educational requirements in AZ are much more rigorous than CA and would require me to get a masters in accounting (CA requires 24 accounting credits vs AZ requires 36!!). Personally, I dont think its worth it for me (nor do I want to) to spend the time and money to get my masters in accounting. But I was just wondering in case I ever change my mind in the future.
2) Could I get my license in CA while working in AZ? Idk if this is even possible, but just curious. Just dont see a point in going back to get my masters in acc due to the fact that I started my career already. Most AZ kids get their masters right after their bachelors to fulfill educational requirements.
3) I have begun applying for jobs in AZ, is it worth stating on my resume that I passed all 4 exams even though I was a CA candidate and dont have any intentions in pursuing the licensure in AZ anytime soon? Sorry for the long post, any help would be appreciated
