I know this effects very few of you on this board, but it is something I searched fro quite a while and never really figured out. I’m not saying this is exactly how quickly it will always be, just giving my story so hopefully it helps someone out along the way.

5/28/2014 – Took final section of exam

6/10/2014 – Received notice that I had passed my final exam

6/13/2014 – Sent in Experience Verification form (OAB Form E004)

6/24/2014 – Employer sent in their verification of my experience (After the OAB receives your employer’s verification, they will send out your application for certification)

6/28/2014 – Took and passed AICPA Ethics Exam

7/9/2014 – Mailed in application and CPE records (You need 40 hours of CPE records within either the last 365 days or for the last full calendar year to receive a permit to practice public accounting, which you must have in order to work in a public accounting firm. You don’t necessarily need a permit to be a CPA in industry)

7/18/2014 – Board Meeting in which my application was approved and license and permit officially given to me. Sometimes the board won’t have a meeting that month, so you’ll have to wait until the next board meeting.

7/25/2014 – This one probably only will happen to me, but I’m more excited about this than my CPA stuff. My wife and I found out we’re going to have a baby!!!! It will be our first, coming late March/early April!

12/6/2014 – OAB only gives out Certificates twice per year, and this is the next date, so I’ll get my certificate then.

I hope this helps out anyone at all, if it helps out 1 person, I’ve done my job.
