Ohio Ethics Exam

    Anyone around take the Ohio Ethics Exam? Is it the “Fundamentals of Ohio Accountancy Law” presentation on the Ohio Society of CPAs website?

    If that is in fact the correct exam, I notice it is also occasionally offered in person. Which one (online or in-person) did you do and why?

    We (I'm in ohio as well) have to take that along with the 4 sections of the CPA exam?

    Here's what the website says “A course in professional standards and responsibilities that emphasizes the Ohio accountancy law and Board rules. Proof of course completion must be sent to the Board.”

    It seems for perusing the Ohio Society of CPAs website that the above mentioned is the course, but I wanted to see if anyone had gone through it or new for sure.

    I am also looking for the correct ethics exam. I believe we can take any of the three under Professional Standards & Ethics on the Ohio Socieity of CPA's website (https://www.ohioscpa.com/cpe/online-library). I emailed a woman at Ohio Board of Accountancy to confirm we can take either of them.

    Also, to save money you don't need to take in person, it's more anyway. You can just to just watch the online video and download the reading material. I believe it's only $99 dollars.

    Yes, successful completion of a professional standards course emphasizing Ohio law is required for CPA certification. The Ohio Society of CPAs offers two programs that qualify and are approved by the Accountancy Board: “Fundamentals of Ohio Accountancy Law” and “Professional Standards and Responsibilities-Ethics: Resources, Rules and Reminders.”

    So the course on entitled “Professional Standards and Responsiblities – Ethics, Resources, Rules & Reminders” offered at the Cleveland Airport Marriot on 12/15/11 would meet this requirement?

    I am a bit confused on the ethics course requirement……I have not taken any specific ethics courses and I was under the assumption that my external auditing course covered this requirement. My application was approved and I have exams scheduled.

    Is there another ethics course I still have to take even after I pass the exams??

    I would just like to reintroduce this topic.

    Where do you find the ethics exam for the state of Ohio for 2014. Is it through the state board or the Ohio Society of CPA's? I heard that you can take the exam online. Is that still true?

    We can do this. It is a difficult journey, but it'll feel wonderful once we are done. Then at that time, we'll reap in all the benefits.

    Is the above link correct? Is this the only way to meet the ethics exam requirement? Thanks for any help! Trying to google information for this has been discouraging.

    Time to bump this post. Does anyone have an estimate of how long the course takes? I am trying to decide when I plan on taking it.
