It used to be about 3 months. Anyone know if that’s changed? Thanks!

Just thought I'd drop in a set of my own data and also add-in the measurements of the parchment (it's 8.5 inches X 11 inches) for anyone else who wants to know

Found out I passed my last exam on 10/08/20, applied online by 10/09/20 with all of my information EXCEPT Form 4B which needed to come from an old supervisor.

They didn't get that submitted until 11/29/20, my file was considered complete on 12/29/20, and my official application date was given to me of 12/31/20.

In late January 2021 – upon a few weekly repeat calls to the department over there, I found out my application was given initial approval and sent along to the processing queue for the board to review and approve which was granted on 02/09/21.

Was told at that point it takes 4-6 weeks processing time to run a background check as a final piece as well as getting the staff to post up an active license number online.

Note that after that happens OPUnit3 will tell you it can take up to 2 weeks after getting that active license number posted up to get your actual license documents in the mail – and that due to Covid-19, it could take longer.

My Active License number got posted on 03/09/21, right along their timelines…and then actually got my parchment – yesterday, which was a pleasant surprise.

Moral of the story as others have posted in here, you can call and be polite (always) as the staff will help you with regards to getting a sense of timing of how long this takes…and also dear god – get aligned with whatever supervisors you have on that Form 4B being sent along. My old one sat on it and I had to have weekly follow-up emails and a couple of phone calls to see it through and it cost me 2 months of waiting and probably an interview or 2 in the past couple of months because of annoying hiring managers and competition in the market for people having an active license vs. waiting for processing of one.

Total time from application for licensure to actively licensed: 5 months.

After 15 years of putting this off, I finally put in some focus and passed the last part of the exam December 15th. I submitting the application online when I shouldn't have though. If you are Grandfathered in to pre 2009 rules (yes I applied back then so I don't need 150hrs), you need to submit the application by mail and have it notarized.

I mailed in December 20th, and application in by December 22nd.

January 12th after I emailed they said it was comped.

January 30th it was still in comped.

February 15th I was informed it passed comped February 5th and it was to go to the board by March 5th. It can take up to 6 weeks after then.

March 12th was told it was approved by the board and going through opunit3.

Well, they are really upholding their 12 to 16 weeks estimate. Mine approving date was 17th from board, and received update from OPUNIT3 that my file is not in queue yet, take 4 weeks from approving date to get me in the queue and another 4 to 6 weeks to process.

Have you received any progress update on your file yet?

    Congrats Yankee!!!
I wish I had mailed in the application with a check by August 1, 2009 so I would have been grandfathered in.
Ended up having to wait out the 15 year clock.

But either way, here we are now!!!
    So good to be done!

Yeah I'm still waiting. Approved March 3rd, 4 weeks to get into que, then another 4 to 6 weeks after that to get a number.

Maybe because it's tax season 🤔

Dont know what they are up to, they were processing on 10+ average a day from Jan to March 18, then only 1 license was issued until now.

How do you see how many licenses they are issuing?

Nope not there yet. Maybe tomorrow.

The wait continues…..just like the pile of tax returns on hold awaiting if NYS will tax unemployment.

I called OPUNIT3 earlier today. They told me to look around April 15th.

That would be 142 days since my application date.
