It used to be about 3 months. Anyone know if that’s changed? Thanks!

Anyone have luck calling the board and having them expedite the process?

I'm starting the new job search process soon and want my resume to have CPA at the end of my name instead of “license pending”.

Can anyone tell me if cpa's in nyc have to submit to fingerprint background checks? Similar to what they do in Texas and california. Thanks

    Hi everyone!
Anyone recently received their license and can update us on how long does the board currently take to process a case?

How is everyone finding out that their application was approved and sent to processing? I reached out to someone in the office, who told me that my application was forwarded to the board on 12/27/19 and that the process is taking approximately 3 months (they actually lost some of my paperwork when I initially applied for licensure in September, which I discovered upon follow up about two months later). Do you actually receive some form of notice of approval (email, letter, etc.) or are you just reaching out regularly on the status?

I've been submitting requests for updates. I try to wait at least a 3 weeks or so before requests so I'm not overloading them too much but I'm so anxious to get my license. I found out that I was missing a few hours so I sent them another transcript last week. I was hoping I got an approval this week!

It seems that COVID-19 is putting some significant delays on the issuance of licenses. None have been posted to the website in 2 days. We’ll just have to hang tight…

I called on Friday since i submitted my application and had a few questions – they said most of their office are closed so not to worry about anything at the moment since it won't get processed.

It's going to be a long wait here in NY.

We understand your anxiety, but everything is so up in the air and so indefinite until you have no choice but to wait. Congrats on being done. 🙂

It looks like they are processing applications still. I see there are several new CPA licenses that were posted on the website today
