It used to be about 3 months. Anyone know if that’s changed? Thanks!

Called NYS (518-474-3817 ext. 270) and confirmed all docs were received by 11/28. Will reply back when number received.

I will keep an eye on the mail, but I am wondering if this can be tracked electronically. NYS allows for a personal email address on Form 1. Do you get an email once you are approved by the board? Or do we have to wait for license in snail mail and call occasionally to check status?

Also, I am considering the CFA exam next. Any CPAs herein that have both? Is it worth it? CFA can take over 3 years. I am also considering top-tier MBA to move into front office finance. Anyone have experience or know someone?

NYS is not very good at making contact with any issues as previous users have stated in this thread.
The only way to track online is to use the NYS CPA professional license verification to continually check to see if your name is listed.
I think your name is usually listed within 24 hours ish of your license being granted.
At this point in time I'd recommend waiting 4 weeks to call just to make sure nothing is missing from your file.
Then call in another 4 weeks to make sure there is still nothing missing.
It seems they are getting slightly caught up and now issueing in about 2 months, so that will be your time frame target.
Patience is the key, but don't count on them contacting you if something like transcripts are missing, you'll need to stay on top of it.

Thanks Recked. I have a question/comment for all. My education is split 146 credits in NYS accedited accounting & finance program, 6 credits from UoP online (3 credit BUSCOM and 3 credit Acct theory, both masters level). Total of 150. I am wondering if anyone was rejected for the UoP/online class portion. I called NASBA and they said they can't do an education verification because I already passed the exams. NASBA said to call NYS for further assistance. Called NYS and they told me to call NASBA back. I am in a love triangle with NASBA and NYS Board right now over education. So, I applied anyway without any definitive answers. Hope it gets by the board – any comments?

Anyone get the date they are up to? Last time I checked it was October 2nd. I don't feel like calling again. HAHAHA

Can't offer much assistance on this. I think if you research hard enough you will find a course listing for NY somewhere, as to what is accepted or not accepted.
At this point in time all you can really do is hope for the best.
Its always tough when you get caught between NYS and NASBA, vicious cycle that is going to cost you 2 months.
Given this new information I would advise you call every 2 weeks instead of 4 weeks.
They may OR MAY NOT, call or email you to let you know your education is NOT sufficient, but given their track record of making first contact with people that have issues with their file, stay proactive on this.

Steven, the guy up on this page sent his stuff Sept 27th and got his number yesterday, 11/28.
That's a pretty good indicator. Doesn't exactly jive with your call results, but still ballpark.
I know its hard to remain patient, good luck and speedy results!!! What date did you submit your stuff?

Maybe he means the board got his stuff on the 27th, which makes more sense. he said received which doesn't really tell me if they received the app or the board received the info.
I checked the website and my name was not on there.

I mailed my stuff Sept 24th.
Was sent to the board 10/16.

Hi Guys hope you can help a fellow applicant. I just passed the last part and obviously want to get the ball rolling as soon as possible to get licensed. Should I wait for the congratulatory letter or should I send in the application right away and ask my manager to submit his piece as well? And for the application, when they ask for date and grade, is that the date I took the test or the day I received scores?

    Thanks!

Send it all in right away. The forms are all available on the website.
The date and grade should be the date you sat for the exam.
I would include that but I think its unnecessary as they will just get it from NASBA anyway. But it can't hurt to include it.
    Good luck.
