NYS cashed my check a week after sending them my information and have half my transcripts. I do not like the waiting game. I just hope my experience was sent in too. :-X

@Steven.Meditz: I know the feeling. NY cashed my application fee the same exact day they received the check. Not even kidding. Delivered 8:04am on a Friday, cashed that same Friday.

The board received my application on 8/3 – hoping for the best.

Also, regarding the status of your application once it's in the Board's hands, what are the best ways to find out its progress/anything missing? From what I gather and my own experience, generally you're not notified of issues unless you proactively ask them first.

@SBNY2K17 based on my phone call with the state the rep said to call periodically as they will not email/communicate any issues. I also emailed them too, the response said to email once every 2 weeks or so.

@Abeljunkmail – Thank you I’ll do the same @Vasylboychuk – I used Opunit3@nysed.gov. There’s a number in this thread also which I used and the person confirmed they received my documents. Do you mean you mailed your documents or they were sent to the Board on the 27th?

I emailed after I posted my last response here and received a response within a few minutes – “Your license will be issued in about 3 weeks” (my application was submitted to the board on 8/3). I'm hoping everything went through but I assume the worst with this process

Passed exams in May 2016 but too busy at work and procrastinated applying for the license until July 2017.
2/2/2018 (6 month wait) My application went to the board for review. They say it takes 8 to 12 weeks for review.
4/27/18 (3 month wait) Followed up on the 12 week mark. They said to give them a few more weeks.
5/21/18 (3 week wait) Board emailed me on 5/21/18 but had the wrong e-mail on file so I never received the email requesting additional documentation.
8/15/18 Got busy at work. Followed up 8/15/18. Board forwarded me the e-mail I never received.
8/16/18 Went to the registrars office to mail missing docs.
*I should have followed up again 3 weeks after 4/27. If my email was correct in their database, I would have gone to the registrar 5/22, followed up with the board on 6/11 for receipt of missing docs, and received the good news by 7/3.
9/13/18 (4 weeks later) Followed up with Office of the Professions to confirm they received the docs from school. They said the application will now go into re-review and be expedited (I don't have to wait the full time again).
10/3/18 (3 week wait) Followed up. My license has been approved. I will receive it in the mail in a few weeks.
10/22/18 (3 week from now) Will follow up in 3 weeks if I don't receive anything in the mail.
*Lessons learned: Keep following up!

Called today. Apparently they are up to 08/09 applications. Also I believe they have issued up to License #128310.

9/19 – Board approved application
10/9 – Name appeared on website

@Kerry.Buscaglia, I called 518-474-3817, ext. 160 (the people at ext. 160 are much more helpful) and asked what date the Board approved my application and got an answer.
