    Hey Ninjas,

I am not sure if I posted this in the correct forum so please redirect me if needed.

A little background about my CPA progress: I managed to pass 3 out of the 4 exams and just took REG on March 6 (yesterday). I am trying to focus on my education credits as i wait for the results and happiness of passing or frustration of knowing I will have to wait until August to know if I passed the next attempt.

My question is, is there a way to get my education credits evaluated prior to applying for the license? It would be awesome to be able to get ahead of any missing pieces. I obtained my Associates degree from a 2 year college, then transferred to a 4 year to get my bachelors. Even before that I went to a school as an engineering major for my first year of college but decided it wasn’t for me. I also took some college courses in high school that may count towards the number. In summation can somebody please break down how I could find an evaluation or properly do a self evaluation of the credit requirements for the NY CPA license? I have attempted to credit count but I am unsure if non-transferred credits would count. If non-degree credits would count. For example I believe that the two intro accounting classes in my two year combined to get credit for one intro class in the 4 year (would I get credit for the non-transferring class?)

TLDR: How to evaluate 150 credits in NY prior to applying for the CPA license?

It is my understanding that there is required course work to be able to sit for the CPA exam which is only 120 credit hours and you clearly have all of those since you already have 3 passed (hopefully 4). I don't think there are any requirements regarding classes taken for the 150 credit hour requirement, just that you have a cumulative amount of 150. I would assume that if your transcript from your institution includes credit hours earned there and transfer credits and it totals to at least 150, that would suffice! I am not 100% on this so I would call NASBA just to be sure but that is my understanding.

I do know that 33 accounting credits and 36 business credits are needed. However I am having trouble distinguishing some classes that I have. Also as I stated previously since I transferred I am unsure how those credits are counted. I wish there was a service that I could pay to pre-evaluate my credits. Unfortunately, I do not believe that the AICPA nor NASBA do this. Can anyone share their experience? After you pass does NASBA tell you if your credits qualify you or do you have to apply?

Looks like I failed REG 🙁

Since I won't here about my re-take results until August, if anyone can help me with evaluating the 150 credit, 33 accounting credit, and 36 business credits prior to passing the exams since it would be great to take a class between now and then.
