NY license application process

I hate the waiting game, always has and always will. I passed my last part (BEC) in May and submitted my application last week. Filled out form 1 and 4 and had it notarized. I called up my university and had them submit form 2 along with my transcript. I reached out to my ex-bosses and had them submit form 4b. At this point, what’s left? How long do I have to wait?

    Thanks!

I am in the same waiting game that you are (also in NY). There was another thread on here that said NASBA does not submit the information to state boards until July 1 for our window. Maybe that is the hold up. What ever the hold up is…I want it to be over!

The lady I spoke to told me that form 1 is the piece that takes the longest. Their payment is processed by a third party so getting your check approved is usually where the holdup lies. I haven't submitted 4 and 4b yet because my old boss wasn't a CPA and I won't have one year under the new boss until July (phew, two weeks). However, for anyone who's reading this and “sitting” on their application packet, submit Form 1 asap and get the process started.

I've also been told that waiting for NASBA to sent your scores doesn't always work. Reach out to your NASBA contact directly and have them send your transcrips over. That's usually faster than waiting for your University(ies).

They already cashed my check for form 1 so I guess that's a good start.

They got all my forms but one of my Form 4B is incomplete and I have to ask my old director to resubmit. Any idea how long this takes after they have everything on file?

Givemesleep – I check NY license verification almost as much as I refresh the NTS score release page when the scores were out last month, lol. I know it takes time and it's really only been a month or since everything has been submitted (and about 2 weeks since NASBA submitted the scores to NYS). I guess I'm just be impatient. ;(
