I’m not close to finishing this test but i’m want to figure this out. What experience qualifies for the CPA and can a CPA up the chain sign off for you (3 levels up). I have the 5 year degree and am a AR clerk.

Pretty much almost anything counts nowadays. And pretty much any CPA can sign off for you. The NYSED is really not interested in dissecting the management and political chain in most workplaces.

I was just about to make a new post and I saw this one created already. I've been working at one of the big 4 for the past 3 months or so. I've been working in IT Attestation on different engagements and haven't worked directly under a CPA yet. Of course all the partners who technically lead these engagements are all CPAs so this shouldn't be an issue, right? Also, IT audit support is ok for the work experience as well?

PS- Since I've passed the test, I've still come on the site from time to time to check up on some people. It's great that I've been seeing so many passing grades. I hope everyone is doing well 🙂

@Entourage, if you work for the Big 4, then you should just ask HR to have your NY Experience form get processed.
