So you can yell at me if this has been answered before, but it is currently stopping me from applying for the exams, because my plan was to take one in July, so do I wait until December/January to initially apply, get approved and then get my NTS? Since my state board says to not apply unless you are ready to take it within the next 6 months. I am confused because, do months count that aren’t tested for this 6 month window after approval?

The 6 month window starts when you receive your NTS. It will state the earliest date you can receive it (the day you get it) and the latest date (6 months from the date you can take it). So if you apply today and get your NTS on Wednesday, it, the latest you can take your exam would be in 6 months, or May. So I would not apply for it until you are certain of the date you want to take the exam.

to add on, you can have multiple NTS but only for one section at a time. (You cannot have two NTS for the same section)
