    Hi, I am wondering can a sole tax experience worked under a CPA be qualified for the New York State CPA’s experience requirement? Here is a copy of the statement for exp requirement:

    “An applicant who meets New York’s 150 semester hour education requirements for licensure must present evidence, satisfactory to the State Board for Accountancy, of one year of full-time experience (or the part-time equivalent) providing accounting services or advice involving the use of accounting, attest, compilation, management advisory, financial advisory, tax, or consulting skills under the supervision of a certified public accountant licensed in one of the U.S. jurisdictions or a public accountant licensed in New York State. Acceptable experience may be earned in a public accounting firm, government, private industry or an educational institution.”

    Then again, when u look at the experience Form 4B, it ask u for a % of work that u have done in forensic accounting, Bookkeeping, Tax etc. Hence, will it be fine if u did 100% of tax work for the 1 year work experience requirement?

    Thx a lot for the help!

    @Herbieherb: Thx for the reply.

    Btw, r u from New York City? do u know how the CPA job market is like now in NYC or any other city within New York State? Is it possible to fina a CPA firm to accept a Canadian foreigner for an entry-level job? Assuming that I am willing to pay for all the legal fees myself for TN visa.
