@Jeff I don't think there is anything wrong with having kids in your 30s. My dad was 36 when they had me and I never felt he was “old”. I think my husband's problem is his childhood. He is 12 years younger than his oldest brother and 6 years younger than the one closest in age to him. He says his dad used to take all his brothers camping and all sorts of other things but when my husband came around he no longer did any of those things. He always says he wants to be more active in his kids life. However, I do not think having kids in your 30s is the problem. My Daddy is in his 60s and he played kickball with us a couple years ago. But, I cannot get it into his head that he is being silly. Therefore, I am stuck having to rush to have children all because he is paranoid of being too old by the time we have the last one.

@littlenumberrobot That is exactly what my husband always said while we were dating! I kept telling him that I did not want to have kids soon after marriage and it frustrates him when I say I want to wait a couple years. I think your idea is great, 30 and 32. I wish someone else would tell my husband he is not old. I keep saying I am only 3 years younger than you and I am not in the least bit old. I don't think you should base your age on when you have children. It should be when you feel ready. I hope y'all get to have kids then! Sounds like a great plan.

I am part of the victim list for the CA rules change. I hope I manage to pass by Nov 2013. If not then well I will just have to get my credits from whatever courses I can do.

I sadly have a UK degree and when I sent it in for evaluation, they only give me 100 Semester hours.. πŸ™ so now I have to make up 50 Semester hours.

Super tired of Studying as I unfortunately have been relocating to different countries so I had to sit their exams thinking this will be my forever home. Then just as i finish, something happens and i have to move.

Well at this rate I have a UK license and a Canadian license.. Once I get the US CPA I want to be seriously done from studying !! That is if i make it for Nov 2013.

If not…. sigh! I guess I am just going to have to accept being “married” to college books and professors for another 2 to 3 years. (Eyes rolling)

    FAR 05/27/14; 786/110 - Done !

Definitely not gonna pass all 4 in 2013. I have 150 units and I went over it one day and think my classes will all pass for the change as well… if not, I might have to take like 1 or 2 classes which I will be FURIOUS over. I can probably do them at a community college online so not as bad, but ugh.

Question for all those who are affected by the 2014 rules:

Can I continue to sit for CPA exams and apply for an NTS in 2014 or will I have to complete my additional classes first before I can continue to take exams? So far I've passed one exam, and have signed up for two exams in November-December period. I don't mind having to take additional courses, but I would like to be able to continue to sit for my remaining exams first.

justshants, the requirements for sitting for the exam in CA are not changing. Only for getting the license. So you're good as far as continuing to take exams.
