M.S. Accounting – Education Requirements?

Does anyone know if a Masters degree in accounting will suffice as far as education requirements. I live in NJ and I will have like 156 credits, over 30 accounting credits, and an MS accounting but will be missing a specific class listed on NJ requirements. I have heard that if you have a Masters you may qualify anyways despite missing something specific like only having 3 credits business law instead of 6. Does a masters allow you to get past this. That would suck to have to go back and take an extra undergrad class just to meet the requirement. If anyone knows anything about this or has experienced it please let me know, good luck everyone for Thursday score release!

You need to call your board. I've never heard of a masters degree in lieu of anything except experience (in MA, for a non reporting license) but I don't profess to have expertise in other states rules.

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

Massachusetts CPA (non reporting) since 3/12.

The website is exceptionally unclear. Have you talked to an actual person there?

Usually, the states require the specific classes unless you are grandfathered in. Another option may be to apply for your CPA license with the state if you are ready to start the exam process. They will reply to your application with the official list of whatever qualifications are missing.

Massachusetts has something like that – if the master's program has a specific accreditation, they'll accept that. Not sure about NJ, though!

Here is the link to the MA requirements: https://nasba.org/licensure/nasbalicensing/massachusetts/

Looks like it might be the same for NJ, under option 1???:

    https://nasba.org/licensure/nasbalicensing/newjersey/

    R - *77*(02/'13)-Becker & NINJA
    A - 71('11); *87*(04/'13)-Becker & NINJA
    F - *76*(08/'13)-Becker & NINJA - "server upgrade" survivor
    B - 60('11); *82*(10/'13) -Becker & NINA

    DONE, DONE, AND DONE.
