I will be moving from Florida to NY in the next week, since I was able to get myself a job with a firm from NY. MY problem is that im half way done with my CPA testing. The requirements for sitting for the test are different in NY then they are in Florida. Whereas in Florida you only need 120 credits to sit and 150 to be licensed, in NY you need 150 to sit as well as 150 to be licensed. Will i be able to continue with my testing or will I have to finish up the remaining credits thereby basically forfeiting my 2 scores. Please respond back if anyone knows the answer to my predicament

You can continue to sit, but you would just stay under FL's jurisdiction in terms of testing. You can take the test at any Prometric center, but the results would just be reported to FL. You can continue to complete your CPA for FL as is, but when it comes to being a CPA in NY, I'm not sure how that would work. I imagine you could finish the exam, transfer your scores to NY, gain the extra credits needed for licensure, then apply for the license.

    REG - 93 (7/30/13)
    BEC - 90 (8/19/13)
    AUD - 98 (8/31/13)
    FAR - 84 (10/19/13)

I'm running into this problem now with being from MO and going to TX.

In MO you can sit up to 60 days before you receive 150 credit hours, in TX you needed to have the 150 hours BEFORE you sit. The TX board said they would not honor ANY of my scores because I started the journey before reaching 150 credit hours (by like 45 days). So I have to transfer and finish in TN, and then transfer a license to TX once I get the TN license.

Some states, like mine, require a residency requirement; because I won't be a resident of MO, I can't satisfy the work experience objective and they wouldn't grant me a license, so I have to go through a state that doesn't have a residency requirement.

    FAR - 84
    AUD - 94
    REG - 86
    BEC - 86
